scsi_id Not Shown Any Output on VMWare 12.5.X

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.
My machine running CentOS Linux release 7.4.1708 (Core) on VMWare Workstation 12.5.3 Ubuntu. When I tried to create Oracle ASM disk with udev, no scsi_id output on everydisk. So, how could I create ASM disk? Let’s solve scsi_id first. Okay, I tried for /dev/sda: /usr/lib/udev/scsi_id -g -u -d /dev/sda and no output. Next shut it down by poweroff or init 0.

Next step, edit the vmx file and add line for disk.EnableUUID = "TRUE" and save it.

And … Start the vmware ..

Now check the scsi_id by /usr/lib/udev/scsi_id -g -u -d /dev/sda

Good luck and let’s create ASM disks by udev.

Wassalamu’alaikum 🙂
